Welcome to the inaugural
Foreman's Blog.

You might be wondering "Why the formal title? Why call it Foreman's Blog instead of John's Blog? Who does this goose think he is?"

Well, firstly – don't be so rude. Secondly – good question. I remember being in Year 2 at school and someone in the playground bellowed out "Hey, John!" – five of us turned around.

Ever since then I have had to balance the joys of having a simple first name (easy to spell, easy to pronounce) against the aforementioned con of same. On television shows, where a system of headphones and microphones is used for the cast and crew to communicate, "Cue John" is a statement fraught with danger. So I was referred to as Foreman.

And on Strange Bedfellows, one of our two leading men is tv-star, Gold Logie winner and all-round nice-guy John Wood; and I'm sure there's at least one usher who's name is John. So – welcome to Foreman's Blog.

Over the next few weeks I'll give you a bird's-eye view, a fly-on-the-wall peek through the worm hole inside the mixed-metaphor world that is the emergence of a new musical. Together we'll explore the joys, the foibles, the pitfalls and the triumphs, the personality clashes, romance and intrigue of the final stages of preparation of the new Australian musical, Strange Bedfellows.

This service is provided to you, dear reader, absolutely free of charge. All that we ask in return is that you bring 2,756 of your closest friends along to see the show.

Welcome!

x

John
